Handy Tip If Pressure Washer Is Dead
If you want to turn your pressure washer on but the machine has no response when the washer is plugged into the power socket, and the socket is on, check the fuse in the socket. You will probably need a 13 amp fuse. Simple open up the power plug and replace the fuse. Close the plug and try the washer again.
This is a simple trick for any household appliance.
Nartel Fuse Cartridge13 Amp 10 Pack
A ten pack fuse set like the Nartel here is always handy to keep in the house as it’s much handier to have these fuses at home in case you want to repair an appliance instead of going to the shop everytime you need one.
This Nartel set rates 4.7 / 5 from nearly 2,000 reviews!
Don’t forget that Karcher have distributors all over the country so if you feel that your Karcher pressure washer needs a service or repair just give them a ring. Karcher The Market Leader in Pressure Washers
Walk into any decent hardware store and you’ll see Karcher pressure washers with their distinctive yellow and black colours. Without a doubt Karcher are the market leader in domestic electric pressure washers.
For example I was in Woodies yesterday (owned by Grafton Group who also own Chadwicks) and they had recently already put up their display across the aisle that I wanted to walk into (smart marketing move). All the pressure washers on display were Karcher (just like every year that Woodies have pressure washers on display) apart from one ROK pressure washer.
That ROK pressure washer was also coloured yellow and black and I initially thought that it was a different Karcher washer that I hadn’t seen before. In fact a few companies are now producing yellow and black pressure washers hoping to fool people into thinking that they are buying a quality pressure washer like Karcher.
The best companies have their own unique colour design. Take a look at Draper pressure washers with their blue colouring. This makes the Draper brand instantly recognisable.
Build With German Quality
Karcher power washers, like Kranzle washers, are German made and we all know the German demand for quality.
In fact Karcher was founded in badcanstatt, Stuttgart on January 2nd, 1935 so the existence of the company for over 85 years bears testiment to the quality of its products.
Karcher also makes around €2.6bn in annual revenue allowing it to buy quality parts in bulk in order to achieve cost savings.
Pressure Washers Can Break
At the end of the day pressure washers are just machines. They all work in a similar way and really the difference is in the quality of the parts, in particular the pump, and of the power of the pressure washer.
Bear in mind that a certain percentage of pressure washers will break. That is just an undeniable fact just like a certain amount of vacuum cleaners or toasters will break within the first few weeks of use.
If there is an internal problem with your Karcher pressure washer then you can contact the shop where you bought your unit and ask for a replacement (make sure that you still have the receipt from your purchase) or you can google your nearest Karcher repair centre (believe me they are everywhere).
When you bring a broken Karcher pressure washer (or any other home and garden Karcher appliance) to a Karcher repair centre Karcher will fix it free of charge of the unit is still under warranty. If the warranty has expired then you will be charged for the repair.
Should You Fix It Yourself
If attachments are broken you can obviously buy these yourself (hence this post!) and maybe you can do simple repairs to the unit yourself. Be aware though that if the unit is under warranty you should probably not try to fix anything yourself as this may void the warranty. This goes for all appliances such as pressure washers, fridges, freezers and washing machines etc. Check the warranty terms and conditions!
Basic Karcher pressure washer parts are easy to find and easy to fit however by having a pressure washer repaired in an authorised Karcher service centre you can get a service for your washer as well extending the life of your machine.
