Karcher K2 Hose Replacement and Other Hose Spare Parts

A Karcher K2 hose replacement in various lengths is easy to find (just click here).

However there are a number of things that you must know in order to be fully informed about which pressure washer hose to buy. Here are some pressure hose FAQ’s with hose extensions and parts below the FAQ section.

Can You Pressure Wash With a Garden Hose?

The Karcher K2 Hose Replacement

Pressure washer hoses are designed to deal with a great deal of water pressure. As such a pressure washer hose is made of either PVC (the most popular material), polyurethane or rubber.

Due to the use of these materials a pressure washer hose is a little more awkward to use than a common garden hose.

The extra pressure that a pressure washer puts on a garden hose can cause the garden hose to tear especially if the hose is old, kinked or cracked. The extra pressure can also keep pushing the garden hose out of its connectors. This can obviously cause damage to your self or your property.

For this reason it is best to use a proper pressure washer hose when pressure washing.

Tip: If you find that the pressure washer hose is curled simply twist the lance in the opposite direction of the curl to straighten the hose out!

Do You Lose Pressure With a Longer Hose?

From personal experience I can say that yes you will lose pressure with a longer hose. However remember that there are really 2 hoses involved. One from the tap to the pressure washer (since were talking about an electric pressure washer) and one from the pressure washer to the lance.

Since the pressure washer generates power for a jet of water you should work with a shorter garden hose and a longer pressure washer hose. A great benefit of this set up is that you don’t have to go back and forth to move the pressure washer forwards because your pressure washer hose is so short!

Why Does My Hose Lose Pressure?

Your pressure washer hose might lose pressure if it has been damaged or not connected to the pressure washer properly. These problems are easy to spot.

Garden hose pressure problems might be more difficult to spot as issues such as clogged pipes, a corroded spigot valve or lack of water pressure might not be so easy to spot straight away.

Pressure Washer Hose Connections and Extensions

Here are some other Karcher hose fittings and products that you will need.

Karcher Universal Hose Connector With AquaStop

The Karcher Universal Hose Connector with Aqua Stop

As the name implies this low cost universal hose connector is suitable for all click systems allowing you to really benefit from Karcher quality whichever click system you use.

The unit is also suitable for all 3 pressure washer hose sizes used in the UK and Ireland making it an ideal 3 in 1 connector.

Furthermore the Karcher universal hose connector comes with an aqua stop which, as the name implies, stops the flow of water when you are disconnecting the hose in order to ensure that there are no splashes from water left in the hose. This allows you to stay nice and dry as there’s nothing worse than getting a splash of water over you when disconnecting hoses when you are finished power washing!

The aqua stop also allows you to save water which can only be a good thing.

Karcher Hose Extension

The Karcher 6m Hose Extension

People often look to buy an extra pressure washer hose to act as a hose extension.

This 6m Karcher Hose Extension suits all Karcher pressure washer models from the smaller K2 to the Larger K7.

If your extension hose is longer than your original hose then you may prefer to use just your new hose. However if your work area is fairly large or long then you may want to join the two hoses together with the universal hose connector shown above.

How Long Can A Pressure Hose Be?

Generally speaking shorter hoses are better for smaller  pressure washers and longer hoses for larger models.

As you can see in the above link the majority of extension hoses range from 6m to 15m with 9m and 10m also being common lengths. These sizes are ideal for pressure washer use around the home.
